Our Mission

Imagine living every day without electricity or lights at night. Lights are a symbol of hope, and when I imagine a world without light, I see a cold, dark place. This is, unfortunately, a harsh reality for the 1.3 billion people who don’t have access to light, and 3 billion people who use bio fuels, which can be scarce and also harmful to their health.

I have been incredibly fortunate to visit villages and nomadic people in other countries; I found myself inspired by their beauty but also overwhelmed by their hardships. I realized I take so much for granted. Imagine not being able to see once the sun goes down every day. Imagine extending that day with a little light. My family owns a small portable solar light and I wanted to give it to a family I met. But a lightbulb went off in my head, what if I could give lots of these lights to lots of families? I contacted MPowerd, the inflatable solar light manufacturer, and to my amazement, they offered to partner with me and agreed to match any contributions that Lumens4Humans charity raises. That is incredible and I am truly grateful for their partnership. Please join us in making the world a happier, brighter place for all people.
